I had always heard how inexpensive it is to travel within Europe, but I was not expecting to spend 50 euros on flights and accommodation for a 3-night weekend trip to Austria! My schedule at SRH Heidelberg was very travel permitting because the international office at the German University does not allow exchange students to be overwhelmed with schoolwork so that they can focus on enjoying their time exploring. My studies were one course at a time in 5-week blocks. So, I would have a couple 4-hour lectures per week, then I was free to do whatever I wanted with my spare time. So, I travelled! Victoria is a Tourism Management student at Capilano University. She is the president of the on campus Christian club and loves helping people connect to meaningful communities. When she is not travelling, she loves running, cycling, and skiing. Study Abroad Destination: Germany

On the plane home from my first study abroad in Orlando, Florida where I was lucky enough to work as an intern for Disney World, I decided that I was going to do another semester abroad. I always had a love for Europe, I had spent 6 weeks there when I was 4, 3 weeks there when I was 16 and a month when I was 17. So why not go back and go to school in a country I haven’t explored yet? My school knew I was interested in another and told me about the small town of Heidelberg in Germany. After a little bit of research, I thought it would be a perfect fit and I was right.

Any student enrolled at a BC Study Abroad Consortium institution, who is enrolled in or accepted into a short-term in-person or virtual exchange study abroad program is eligible to apply. The deadline for application is Friday, November 5, 2021.
