Earn 9 Douglas College credits in just 7 weeks with courses taught by Douglas College instructors:
- CRIM 1121 - Historical Perspectives in Criminal Justice (3 credits) - Heidi Currie
- POLI 1101 - Introduction to Political Science (3 credits) - Shaun Tyakoff
- ENGL 1102 - Reading Literature and Culture (3 credits) - Jason Bourget
Directed studies options available for students who have already taken any of the above courses.
Option to earn an additional 3 credits for the History & Culture of Wales course taught at the University of Wales Trinity St. David. This course transfers to Douglas College as a Humanities course.
Program Dates: May 5 - 3rd week of June, 2014
Weeks 1-4 - Classes at David Lam Campus
Weeks 5-7 - Classes, excursions and residence at the University of Wales Trinity St. David, Carmarthen, Wales
Visit Tintern Abbey, a Roman fortress, Llansteffan Castle, Cardiff, Dyland Thomas' Boathouse & Writing Shed, Bath, go down a real coal mine and more! The program wraps up with a weekend in London where you'll visit the British Parliament and see a performance at the Globe Theatre! At the end of the program, you have the option to return home, stay or travel the UK and Europe!
All program participants must take the same flight from Vancouver to London.
Program Fee: Estimated $3600.
Early Bird Discount: Get $100 off if complete application form and $500 deposit received by Friday, January 31, 2014!
- includes airport transfer to University of Wales, Carmarthen, on-campus accommodation, weekday meals, several guided excursions, tuition for course on Welsh culture, access to computer and sports facilities on campus, and travel medical insurance
- does not include passport application cost, Douglas College tuition and other student fees, airfare, airport transfers in Vancouver, weekend meals nor personal expenses
