Program Highlights and Travel Dates
Fashion Field School: London and Paris will be taught in FASN 3900, a 3 credit, special topics course. Pre-departure course hours will be a total of 10 hours over two days and will take place in the Summer 2025 semester. In this field school, you will have the opportunity to explore fashion and fashion marketing and design through the tremendous history of London and Paris.
You will see first-hand how each city became, and have stayed, two of the most significant fashion centers of the world. You will be encouraged to connect with each other throughout the course, and engage in discussion and reflection with each experiential component. You will maintain hard-copy journals to document and express personal engagement, and also create an e-portfolio of awareness, reflection and learning outcomes based on your own experience.
Field School Highlights:
- Explore Savile Row, the Design Museum & Victoria, Musée de la Mode et du Textile (Louvre Museum), Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Palais Galliera, and Gobelins Factory
- Meet and hear from designers and industry members through studio and shop visits
- Visit museums, galleries, and tour fashion exhibits
- Participate in hands on making workshops

Classes Offered and Pre-requisites
FASN 3900 Design Field School (3 credits)
Pre-departure classes are scheduled for May 1 and May 2, and are co-taught by Lesley Pollard and Michael Pope.
Exact times for these classes will be shared closer to the date.
Some of the pre-departure work will be done self-paced over Moodle.
Pre-requisites
45 credits of 1100 level or higher courses, or with permission from field school instructors.
Note that no previous Design experience is needed to enroll in FASN 3900.
Students must be nineteen years or older at the start of the course.

STEP 3: Pay your $750 deposit towards your program fees for the field school by November 15, 2024.

Applications from college and university students outside of KPU are encouraged and will be accepted and considered based on seat availability and compliance with pre-requisites.
