Finding housing in Denmark as an international student had proven to be quite the challenge. But once I settled for a room in the Smiths Overfor collective, I couldn't be happier! At first, I had no idea what to expect… I sent off my application and did an interview in front of 8 potential housemates and hoped for the best. Luckily, I was accepted and welcomed warmly upon my arrival.

Situated within vibrant Europe, Scotland is a progressive nation built on dynamism, creativity, and the warmth of its people. Located in the mid-west of Europe, Scotland may be small but it’s punching well above its weight. Occupying the northern third of Great Britain the country shares a border with England in the south and packs some of the most stunning scenery in all of the UK into its borders. 

Next summer, Douglas College is organizing a field school to Scotland where students can earn nine university-transferable credits in only seven weeks!

Helen Keller said, “life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all”. Her words express a longing in my heart for adventure- to experience new places and culture, climb new summits and meet new people. Today however, as I sit here thinking about my impending departure this coming Friday to embark on the biggest adventure of my life, I feel as though I am grasping at the strings of that longing as something to hold on to, and frantically trying to stop shaking in my boots.
