Have you ever gone into one of those saunas at the public swimming pool? Where you walk in and it's like stepping into, well, like stepping into a room full of hot, steamy air. The air kind of weighs down on you, slowing your breath and clinging to your skin. That's what we are met with as our curious faces emerge from the airplane and step onto the stairs leading to the solid ground of Beijing, China.

Thanks to BCCIE and the Beijing International Education Exchange (BIEE), 20 lucky secondary school students from across BC have arrived in Beijing, China, on July 14! The students are participating in the Beijing International Student Summer camp, which each year unites high school youth from over 20 countries for a 10-day "life-changing" exchange program in China's historical capital. Students are now experiencing a whole new different culture and enjoying arranged activities while intensifying their interpersonal skills and communication among Chinese and other overseas students.
Are you interested in going to China? The Beijing International Education Exchange (BIEE) is once again welcoming secondary-school students from across British Columbia to join in the 2016 Beijing International Student Summer Camp!
If you are a secondary-school student in BC interested in learning about one of the world's oldest civilizations, then this is your chance to participate.
Ever wonder what it would feel like to walk a portion of the Great Wall of China? To be a secondary student in Beijing? To visit the famous Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City? 40 lucky secondary school students from across B.C. got the chance to do just that. They spent 10 days engaging in cultural tours, visiting key Chinese landmarks, trying new cuisine, learning about Chinese history and testing out their mandarin skills at the annual Beijing International Student Summer Camp.
From July 12 -21 over 850 students from around the world will come together in Beijing, China for the 2014 Beijing International Student Summer Camp. 45 BC High School Students are attending the camp as representatives of Canada and will make up the largest cohort from any country in attendance! The students will learn about Chinese culture and visit historical sites in and around Beijing while meeting peers from 24 different countries.
