Research opportunities abroad for BC students!

Mitacs is now accepting applications for competitive international research opportunities, including student travel to and from Canada. The deadline to apply is March 31, 2017 at 5 p.m. PST.

Projects last 12–24 weeks and are open to graduate students. Select destinations are also open to senior undergraduates. Funding varies by destination.

Are you interested in Chinese culture and/or the travel & tourism industry? If you are, there is an opportunity for you to spend three weeks in the home of a Chinese family in an historical village! 

The Jinhua Municipal Government of Zhejiang Province, China, plans to preserve the original cultural atmosphere of Jinhua historical villages, while developing them for travel and ecotourism. To do so, they are looking for BC students, teachers and/or recent graduates to help promote homestay tourism in Jinhua's historical villages.

My decision to study abroad was very last minute. It all began when I woke up one morning and decided something needed to change – myself. I was tired of the daily routines that provided little to no stimulation. My life felt dull and uninteresting. So I thought to myself – I need a challenge, a quest, a journey, and an adventure that will help me grow and become a strong, independent individual – no more friends to rely on, no more dotting family members – just me.
